ACEDHARS UNILAG: African Centre of Excellence for Drug Research, Herbal Medicine Development and Regulatory Science.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

The Centre welcomes students from all over the world. In the ACE categorization, Nigerian candidates are regarded as National students, nationals of other West African countries, Central African countries and Djibouti are regarded as regional students while students of all other Countries are regarded as international students. The Centre offers full scholarships only to regional students. National and International students are required to pay fees as specified by the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS), University of Lagos. However, the Centre will cover all expenses relating to research, conferences and publications of all students irrespective of Nationality.

Admission into all postgraduate programmes offered by ACEDHARS is done through a two-fold application process: a letter of expression of interest to ACEDHARS and an online application to the SPGS, University of Lagos. The Centre supports programmes leading to the award of Masters Degrees, Master of Philosophy Degrees and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees, through its participating departments. The mode of study is by Course work, Research and Internship. Internship for Masters Degrees, Master of Philosophy Degrees are for one term of one month while for Doctor of Philosophy is two terms of one month each.

 Guidelines for Application

a) Expression of Interest

  1. Applications into ACEDHARS programmes which have been duly approved by SPGS are advertised on ACEDHARS website and flyers. Annual advert will include available programme and proposed Research topics.
  1. Prospective students should send a letter of expression of interest to the Director, ACEDHARS via acedhars@unilag.edu.ng. Expression of interest in a particular programme should be a two-page introduction and reasons behind a choice of Research programme and a research topic (either one of those advertised by the Centre or one proposed by the candidate).
  • Expression of interest must be accompanied by a copy of each of the following: curriculum vitae, birth certificate, attestation or degree Certificate and passport photograph.

b).  Application for Admission to the School of Postgraduate Studies

Prospective students must also visit the SPGS website http://spgs.unilag.edu.ng/prospective-student/ and follow the procedure for applying online for admission into the desired programme.  Prospective students will be required to

    1. Pay an application fee as specified by SPGS
    2. Undergo an entrance examination as specified by the prospective departments
